How Much Time of Your Life Do You Spend in the Shower?

Personal hygiene does provide health benefits, and most people do need to shower regularly. In addition to its use for routine washing and grooming, water offers benefits relating to pain relief and treatment in the form of hydrotherapy.

Baths, steam showers, saunas, and other bathing methods can:

improve immune function

ease muscle aches and pains

reduce swelling

increase blood flow

improve concentration

lessen fatigue

make it easier to breathe

But have you ever thought about how much time do you spend in the shower through your lifetime?

According to statistics, the average shower duration for a person would take from 8 -10 minutes. Each shower consumes more than 16 gallons of water because the conventional showerhead has a 2.1 gallon per minute water flow!

On the other hand some people in certain cases spend more time in the Shower. However, the main reason why people shower as much as they do is that it helps them meet social standards of cleanliness and personal appearance. Meeting these standards helps people feel at home in their working and social environments and their bodies.

There's a study out that says the average person spends more than 60 hours a year in the shower!

Supposedly the typical man showers for nine minutes each day, the average woman nine-and-a-half minutes. And both take an average of 8 showers each week.

So, let me break out my calculator here, that means men spend 3,744 minutes in the shower, that works out to be 62.4 hours, or more than two and a half days, while women spend 3,952 minutes in the shower, or 65.9 hours. That would put the ladies at just about three full days.                                    If we calculate according to the average lifetime,

A man has an average lifetime of 76.1 years so that would be approximately 4749 hours in the lifetime that would be 197 days!

For a woman the average life time is 81.1, approximately 5345 hours in the Shower! Which means 222 days spent in the shower for an average woman.

This might seem like a lot, but that is the minimum average in this case, showers  are very important. Our responsibility is to use water wisely, and shower in a reasonable amount of time.
